All of us who love  stitch primitive patterns, love Salem's patterns... but also in Italy we have a 'Salem'. The name of the poor village was Triora, and one of the most powerful witch was Franchetta Borelli.

She was an old, rich, wise woman... She survived and she dead in 1595, on the 2nd of January. The story of the Triora Witches Trials is full of violence... Franchetta is famous because she has never admitted to be a witch, under torture she laughs... and she says: I grit my teeth...and they say I laugh! She was proud and strong. In those ancient days she was an example of intelligence and dignity ...
